Kundapur: Illegal cow slaughter: Police raid spot; mild lathi charge as tension prevails

Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur

Kundapur, Sep 25: The Kundapur police on Friday September 25 raided a spot in a wooded area at Mavinakatte under Gulvady panchayat limits, where illegal slaughtering of cows was going on.

The prime accused Rashid alias Rishid managed to escape and a search for him is on.

On Friday morning, Rashid along with two others allegedly slaughtered two cows at a spot among the trees behind Rashid's house. On receiving credible information, the Kundapur police raided the spot and found meat and skins of two cows. A male calf was kept ready for slaughtering.

As soon as they spotted the police, the accused fled from the spot. The police took possession of the meat, skin and the tools used for the slaughtering and also the calf. Sources said that such illegal slaughtering was going on at the same spot earlier too, but it is not known how and from where Rashid brought the cows.

As news of the raid spread, a tense atmosphere prevailed at the spot after two groups gathered and began arguing. One group expressed anger at the police for letting the accused escape. There was heated exchange of words as more people began to gather.

When the situation threatened to go out of hand, the police resorted to mild lathi charge and after some efforts, managed to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control.

The raid by Kundapur police was led by Sudha Prabhu. Circle inspector Diwakar and inspector Naseer visited the spot and took stock of the situation.

Kundapur police have registered a case.

Because of the immature police action the bakrid festival sacrifice also converted as illegal slaughter .This is the best example of majoritarianism. In fact muslims even have to sacrifice their religious liberty just because it hurts somebodys feelings.SP saab how can maaripuja takes place where same process there but with deferent animal. Will it not hurt any ahimsa religious followers. Here all congress or other party MLA s have same silence response .This police action will have some negative impact on the already exploited muslims community in coastal districts.

It is Muslims duty to spread the true spirit of this Eid ul Adha and its animal scarifies. Many non Muslims think Muslims kill animal and spill blood to please God.
" The Feast of Sacrifice" "EID UL ADHA" Mubarak to all.
"It is not the meat or the blood reaches God but it proves Muslims willingness to sacrifice the Evil deeds. This day is not only to enjoy slaughtering animal, distribute to needy & enjoy eating it but also to remember the sacrifice of Prophet Ibraheem PBUH .
And proving Muslims obedience on it.Significance of Eid al Adha. Related to the story of Prophet Ibrahim's PBUH's sacrifice. Eid-ul-Adha celebrates the occasion when Allah appeared to Ibrahim in a dream and asked him to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God (To test him ). The devil tempted Ibrahim by saying he should disobey Allah and spare his son. Which he rejected by pelting stone on Iblees. As Ibrahim was about to kill his son, Allah stopped him and gave him a lamb to sacrifice instead . Allah gets pleased with this act & made it as a great day for the believers.Today Muslims must remember it in same spirit .

Muslims must remember the sacrifice of Prophet Ibraheem PBUH & must sacrifice the Evil deeds like the Ego , the jealousy, the corruption & the hatred from their life.

Note: This story is also found in the Jewish Torah and the Christian Old Testament (Genesis 22). Here God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, his son with Sarah. Isma’il was his son with Hagar.

    Dear M.Hussain, mangalore,

I quote yours: Allah stopped him and gave him a lamb to sacrifice instead Unquote.

God gave a Ram and not a Lamb. Allah was not there in the genesis. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave a Ram to Abraham instead of Lamb.

Jesus was the Lamb of God who sacrificed himself once for all and there ended sacrificing of animals for the sin of Humans.

Ibrahim name was Arabic. Abraham is a universal name given by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Required slaughter houses in Udupi District.
    1) Udupi.
    2) Kauu.
    3) Byndoor.
    4) Brahmavar.
    5) Kundapur.
    6) Karkala.
As per my knowledge there may not have a single cattle slaughter house in Udupi District.
We need each taluk to have one each cattle slaughter house.

Required slaughter houses in South Kanara District.

    1) One more in Mangalore. (Present one is not sufficient)
    2) Puttur.
    3) Ba twal.
    4) Sullia
    5) Belthangady.
    6) Uppinangady. (Uppinangady is not a taluk but scores of people consume beef).

People should have cattle’s in their houses. It is well known those in cities cannot have cattle’s. Government should encourage animal husbandry in the whole of Karnataka by providing cheep rated fodder.

Sheep meat has been skyrocketed = unreachable, ordinary people unable their hands to Mars.

The meat prices are so high and un-reachable to meat consumers with their wants and means.

If the government follows all over India similarly the meat consumers can have any meat at the cheap rate.

The Deputy commissioner of S.K. district should take the initiative to issue permits to slaughter houses.

Why not the Government come up with a action plan, give licenses to slaughter houses and open meat shops (buffaloes, etc. whichever is legal) other than that of cow which is sacred to one religion and we have to respect. In this way, the cow could be protected legally and the people eating meat could avail these facilities instead of enforcing rules on meat loving people without any solution.

First of all, why do hindus sell off their cows to muslims? If cow is God, then you must treat it like a God, even after it stops giving milk! God is God, even if it is a non-milking God! Just because God does not give milk, stop selling God, to God-eaters! These days people will eat God and Devil in the same plate...only the masala will be different.

It look to me they using their maximum power to curb illegal cow slaughter. When country is first in place exporting beef. Last year exported 2068000 kilos of beef alone. Doesn't make sense.
