Mangaluru, Sep 29: The district unit of Sri Rama Sene has filed a complaint against Kannada author and rationalist Prof K S Bhagwan for making controversial remarks on Lord Krishna recently and thereby hurting religious sentiments.

The complaint was filed by Anand Shetty Adyar, divisional president of Sri Rama Sena in Mangaluru rural police station here Monday September 28.

Speaking to daijiworld, Anand Shetty said, "From one year, Bhagwan has been making controversial remarks on Hinduism and Hindu deities like Rama and Krishna. There is a strategy to insult Hinduism. Sri Ram Sena strongly condemn his remarks.

"I have also requested the police to take action to stop people from making these kinds of remarks which hurt the Hindu sentiment. This is not good. If you have no faith, no problem, but do not hurt the sentiments of Hindus," he said.

In the complaint, Sri Rama Sene stated, "Dakshina Kannada is communally sensitive. The Hindus are in majority here and they believe in Lord Krishna. By making such derogatory statements on a public forum, Bhagwan is hurting their sentiments and also violating the law. He is making such statements for publicity. Hence strict action should be taken against him and justice should be done."

Nobody have no right to tell anything anywhere which hurt any religion. If anybody tells something bad about other religions other than Hindu all are start protest and forcing the govt to take action. This is very bad brothers. When India is growing like anything this time these are not required for us. Please......

He is not a slave to police officer. He need not to be afraid of police. Its his right to go to police station and file a complaint. Police is just one more human being who has set of duties to do just like any other government employees. I feel people should know their right and duties and perform their duties and demand their right. Then there will be much decrease in corruption and abuse.

    Hemanth,
I am not asking people to stand in bent position (or bow) in front of police officer. There should be some respect & decency, when you appear before officials.

Do you endorse same style, when this guy stands infront of Judge at court?

Ok... Now you are the authority of how people should stand or sit. Don't you think it's a kind of moral policing? why do you get offended by his posture? or anybody should get offended. What is wrong if he stand in same poster in front of judge? will judge decide about crime he committed or the poster he stands?

It is better to go through lawful means rather than taking law into one's own hands. Perhaps every religion has to grow to a certain level wherein it is not disturbed by criticism against it. After all, no one can "hurt" God, it is our egos which are hurt. Having said this, those who "criticize" should know their limits and those who "protest"against such criticism should also know their limits.

It looks like, all religious scholars, seers, matadhipathis, swamis and whoever else, can take a walk, here is SRS to propagate right and wrong of Hinduism. And the general public is tolerating this.

It is a very thin line between 'difference of opinion and rationality' as well as 'insult to religious belief'... Any religious belief should be open to free discussion... But these nasty elements will treat everything as insult to religion...
