Bratislava, Oct 9 (IANS): Car maker Jaguar Land Rover has appointed Alexander Wortberg as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the factory planned at a site in Slovakia, the country's press department said.
The company's appointment on Thursday came two months after signing a letter of intent with the Slovak government, Xinhua reported.
The new COO should supervise the work related to the feasibility study aimed at evaluating all aspects of constructing and operating a factory, with an expected annual output of 300,000 vehicles.
It is expected that the plant at Nitra, Slovakia, will create 2,000 to 4,000 new jobs.
The investment cost has been calculated to exceed one billion euros ($1.12 billion) and construction work on the 200 to 300 hectare site is set to commence in 2016, with production to be launched in 2018 or 2019.
