Mangaluru, Oct 12: The city police, on Sunday October 11, arrested three persons who allegedly killed a person named Muhammed at Ambikanagara in Kavoor here on the night of Wednesday October 7. It is learnt that the arrests were made from KSRTC bus stand in the city.

The arrested accused are Nasir (31), Imran (23), and Kalandar Shaffi (23). All of them are residents of Kunjathbail in the city. They had absconded after the murder and had evaded arrest.

Muhammed had visited the house of a neighbour named Iqbal at around 8 pm on last Wednesday. He was stabbed and murdered with a knife when returning home sometime later. Police inquiries have found that the murder was backed by pre-existing enmity over some old issues, and also dispute over property.

The accused were produced before the judge on Sunday, upon which they were remanded to judicial custody till 27th of this month, police said.
