Kasargod, Oct 13: Crime branch police have arrested a man from Mangaluru for allegedly raping a 16-year-old mute girl after tying her up.

The accused is Suresh (38), a resident of Sharadanagar, Uppala.

Though the incident had occurred on September 22, it was reported late. A complaint was lodged at Manjeshwar police station but it is alleged that the police were reluctant to register the case. After the matter was brought to the attention of the superintendent of police, the case was assigned to the crime branch.

As per the complaint, on September 22, when the girl was alone at home, the accused came to the house asking for water. When the girl went inside to bring water, he followed her, tied her up and raped her. She later went to the neighbours and explained the incident by using sign language.

The neighbours rushed her to the hospital and got her examined there. Though they complained about it to Manjeshwar police, they did not accept the complaint, it is said. The police did not come
forward to subject her medical tests either.

A complaint was lodged with the women’s police station three days after the incident. The police who obtained information from the girl, conducted her medical examination at a Kasargod hospital and registered a case of rape.

There were attempts to close the case but a local teacher and her husband made a sincere attempt to bring the incident to light. The father of the girl is mentally ill and her mother and two brothers are also mute. The mother sells fish for a living.

What to say?Girl didnt go to with friends ,Picture, was at home, still she was not safe.Police didnt accept complaint. They should be punished first, file case against them.Poor Person in India has hard times.poor Family is struggling to live, and this !Does noone helping them?No humanity?even Police.I find to fight against These rapes only one solution.these rapists mostly from certain community (can be other also)should be taken out from streets, employ them, make them work hard.so that they have no time to think evil .There are enough rich People in community, enterprenuer ,or hindu Maths,or temples who have /recieve offerings.they can use it to Train or educate them.when so they can learn for life, and are occupied.

When people like Nihal Chand (Modi's rapist minister) are roaming free then these kind of rapists will go scot free and eventually be given a ticket from BJP to fight elections.

I just observed one statement "There were attempts to close the case ". I think it's also time to look at those forces which are trying to hide such cruel and inhuman incidents. they are equally responsible as the culprit Suresh. if we catch hold all these hidden culprits who support these creatures... it will help us to clean up the society faster.

He is 38 and has to rape mute/helpless woman to satisfy his sexual urge ? Where are pillars of society that dictate culture ? Contribute towards getting men like this married. First ensure safety of women in the society, then think about building Goshalas.

Really I feel very sad for the mute girl. May god bless her happiness and help her overcome this incident.

Without blaming anyone, just thinking about the present condition in India. Just imagine, if this person had committed any crime against a COW, by now the justice would have served. Either he would have been killed or beaten in public by tying to any light pole…! Even the police would have registered a case and may have tried to put him behind bars! This is present INDIA, which was not like this before.
