Mangaluru, Oct 14: Dakshina Kannada district administration has planned to quicken the pace of disposal of applications filed by the general public in taluk offices relating to revenue matters. Towards lending speed to this process, visit of district deputy commissioner to taluk offices has been planned every Thursday.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday October 13, district deputy commissioner (DC), A B Ibrahim, said that as per this plan, either the DC or additional DC would camp in taluk offices every Thursday for three hours each, and verify the process of disposal of applications filed by the general public.

"The visit to the taluk office in the city will be conducted during first Thursday of the month, Bantwal would be visited the next Thursday, Puttur and Sullia taluk office visits would take place in morning and evening sessions respectively in the third Thursdays, while Beltangady would be visited on fourth Thursdays," he explained.

He said that with the specific aim of keeping the general public informed about all the activities and developments in the administration, a separate Facebook account has been opened by the office of the DC and it has been decided to keep the Facebook page updated with latest developments and information. The general public can access information about the DC's office along with photographs at Facebook.com/dcmng, he added.

The DC has requested the people to get maximum benefit out of this initiative. He also said that the members of the public, who want to meet the DC, may call toll free helpline number, 1077, to confirm about his availability in the office. He asked the people to confirm his presence before they visited his office, as he would often be busy attending meetings, functions, video conferences, or outdoor visits.
