Bengaluru: Live snake in parcel - Bescom employee gets 'shock' of his life!

Bengaluru, Oct 15: We have heard parcels containing explosives, powder with anthrax bacteria and other things being sent with the specific intention of harming the recepients. There have also been many occasion in which toy snakes which jump out when containers are opened have surprised and shocked people.

A person working in the office of the chief electrical inspector of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd here had something else in store when he wanted to check the parcel he received by courier. He found to his utter shock and dismay that the parcel contained a live snake.

Angelio Keith D'Silva, second division assistant in the above office received a parcel by courier on Tuesday October 13 afternoon. As soon he opened the parcel out of curiosity, the snake that was inside started to move and peep outside, after experiencing light and air movement. D'Silva immediately closed the lid of the box, took it outside, and released the snake in a desolate spot, it is gathered.

In a complaint filed at High Grounds police station here, D'Silva said that he received a parcel from a courier company, which did not bear the name and address of the sender. He said that he was shocked to find a snake inside. Alleging that it was the handiwork of a person named Deviprasad working in his office, he has requested the police to interrogate the said colleague to bring out the truth.
