Dubai: KaDam gears up for 5th anniversary, Vinaya Prasad, B R Shetty to grace event

Dubai, Oct 15: KaDaM is all set to celebrate its 5th anniversary on October 23 at Sheraton Deira, Dubai from 10 am sharp. The event promises to render an exciting day filled with loads of entertainment, fun and frolic, followed by a sumptuous lunch.

KaDaM is a socio-cultural forum established in the year 2010 in Dubai and since its inception has been gaining ground 'step' by 'step' (Kadam in Hindi). Every year, KaDaM honours its community members who have excelled in one or the other field and confers on them the 'Devadiga Sadaka Prashasti'. Since 2010 this award has been bestowed on B G Mohandas, Seena Devadiga, Meghana Saligrama and Raghurama Devadiga. This year two prominent figures are sharing this award - Raju Devadiga, a well-known politician and Vijayalakshmi Shibaroor, a journalist - both of whom will be flying from India to receive this honour.

Padmashree Dr B R Shetty has agreed to grace the programme as chief guest along with well-known South Indian actress Vinaya Prasad. Guests of honour will include Raj Shetty of Ramee Group of Hotels, Praveen Shetty of Fortune Group of Hotels, Satish Venkataramana of Chilly Willy Trading and Annayya Sherigar of Ekanatheshwara Temple.

Another star of the evening will be Jyothiprakash Atre, popularly known as JP, who will also be a guest of honour during KaDaM's 5th anniversary celebrations. JP is also a popular singer who has rocked audiences in Mumbai, Bengaluru and other places.



Vijayalakshmi Shibaroor

Another guest is well-known journalist Vijayalakshmi Shibaroor, the special investigative correspondent in Asianet Group's Suvarna News 24x7 Kannada news channel and has won Karnataka Media Academy Award 2010-11, Madhyam Ratna 2011-12, Bangaluru Ratna 2012-13, Namma Bangalore Award 2014-15, Madyama Sanmaan for best investigative reporter 2012 -13 etc.


VJ Vineeth

VJ Vineeth, who played a lead role in Kannada telefilm 'Saluge', acted in 'Rang' and 'Soombe' Tulu movies and features in a lead role in the upcoming Tulu movies 'Rambarooti' and 'Maarnemi'will be a guest of honour and will take over the stage programme throughout the day in his imitable style.


Ravi Bhat

One more celebrity to join the KaDaM's anniversary will be gold medalist Ravi Bhat, a south Indian TV and film actor who has performaned in many Kannada and Telugu films and TV serials. Currently he is playing the role of Yudhishtira in Kannada mega serial 'Mahabharata' on Udaya TV.

Preparations are in full swing for the grand celebration and the event will include some of the best performances by celebrities, well-known actresses of Tulu films, winners of TV dance competitions and members of KaDaM who intend to entertain the audience throughout the programme with dances, music, songs, skit and many more surprises.
