Mangaluru, Oct 19: Clashes broke out between people of two communities at Chitrapur near Suratkal on the night of Monday October 18.

At least five persons were injured and admitted to hospital.

It is said that two girls of a community used to frequent a shop at Chitrapur where their friends, three girls, were working. The shop is owned by a person of another community, and among the three girls who work there, one belongs to a different community.

The two girls used to often go to meet the girls working in the shop, but they were frequently warned against doing so by some people of their community as they claimed the shop owner would also talk to the girls, it is learnt.

On Monday evening, the girls again went to the shop, and when objections were raised by people of one community, people of other community also gathered at the spot and soon arguments snowballed into a clash.

The police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.

Among the five injured, Pushparaj and Bharath have been admitted to a hospital in Suratkal, while three others, identified as Altaf, Ajmal and Shamshuddin have been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Former minister Krishna J Palemar and others visited Pushparaj and Bharath in the hospital.

Suratkal police have registered a case.

Ok. As per new rules, men and women of different communities should not talk to each other. So, we then should have women and men of these communities employed in taluk office, police DC office etc. So these respective community people will talk only to their community personnel in the various government offices.

Let all of us living in India that some thing sinister is going on in every state, of our country.... today there is so much hatred, anger, suspicion, revenge, bad blood between majority & minority community, this scenario has gradually become vicious since two years.... if it is not controlled & reversed, i fear it will lead to untold sufferings, despair, turmoil... i vividly recall the riots that occurred in Mumbai, the soul of this great cosmopolitan city was divided on religious entity...... till today this wound has not been healed !!!
people view the other as enemies !!
I pray that this madness come to an early end....& people realize that we are one nation .....

Lets be fair guys. The Mangalore leadership is totally inefficient. They want to cash in on such incidents. The media too is responsible as it makes very contradictory & ridiculous statements. The Moodbidri assaulters were brainwashed youth but the killers of Iqhlak were BJP/RSS Members.

something is wrong in mangalore. it is also true that we cannot change this atmosphere by blaming BD/VHP.. the real culprits are not came into picture till now. so the incidents are going on. if our state govt given a full power to our mangalore police, then the situation can be changed. our elected MLS should treat all the people equally then the misunderstanding can be avoided.

What non sense is this now? Send these youth to either serve at any armed forces of our country or for any Charitable places to look after sick n needy. They will probably learn what life is all about.!!
Dont they have any better work rather than keeping a watch on girls or boys and their friends and their movements. How strange is it that now, that girls cant meet girls.
Come on jobless section of youth do something constructive to uplift society and not engaged in such destructive activities. Dont you people have mothers and sisters at home? Do you treat them in this same manner? You guys grow up in your thinking.
I hope Police dept takes stringent action on these guys, so next time they will think twice before doing something like this.

If that much Blood is boiling then let these youth go border and fight against our enemies. Why to bring disturbance in and around locality?

I am sure, if they go and look how our Soldiers are living there, these so called PROTECTORS will run away from there with in a minute.

What non-sense is this!!!! why these youth dont understand the meaning of life. How long will this continue.??? Why parents of these youths are not preventing them from doing un-wanted things? But question is-does these youth listen to Parents?

I dont know which community girls were working or what community the Owner belonged.
Problem:People have a feeling that particular community persons are bad and particular community are good
Solution: Should hold frequent interreligious peace meetings in which religious tolerance is taught to everybody. In that one should be made to know Allaha Jesus Lord Ganesh Sri Durga mata all are same
At present Divine Park located in Saligrama. Udupi dist practices these principles

    Dear Ummer,
Your point of view is good to call both community leaders meeting to solve problem.
Problem is there only because what we call leaders they are only provoking youth against other community. we never saw leaders of Hindu killed or leader of Muslim killed. Only innocent people suffer.
Unless people understand this nothing is possible.
Common man is not "BAKRA" to follow so called leaders instruction to damage society.
In UAE people dont know the people living in Next room are hindu or muslim. Many hindu and muslim people living in same room as they are family members.

If people have that much daring let them go to border and fight against terriorism instead of wasting energy in spoiling our own peoples peace.
