Bantwal, Oct 24: The hopes of the citizens that the roads in B C Road will be tarred have turned false. The administration has got the potholes filled with mud and words of anguish can be heard among the locals regarding the matter.

The B C Road main circle, connecting seven roads including Puttur, Panemangaluru market, Bantwal Byepass, Bantwal market, Over bridge, Service road and B C road main road, was full of potholes for the last 2 to 3 months. The road users have been cursing against the Highway authority and the town municipal council for the state of the road. People riding on two wheeler and driving light vehicles give perplexed looks at the potholes. The potholes had also caused several road accidents.

While the problem persisted, the potholes now have been filled with red mud on Friday Octobre 24 evening. If it rains heavily, the potholes are sure to become like slush fields.

People why are you all callingout for Taar?you see it costs soo much Money which either govt or contractor dont have.when Tenders are called someone answers and lowcost one is given contract.they can fill only with mud,so that next contract Comes and Money Comes in.this mud will be washed out .who controls in our Country whether with mud or if at all done is? common man are the sufferers.roadside rideing to avoid potholes, footpaths are not there.because everybody rides on footpath.I experienced this this year .Horrible.Contractors are worried about not good work, only Money Counts and fulfill their contract.sometimes when you see the both sides of finish of road ,you feel that it is not done by a expert but names sake.Poor India.why do we have so many engineers?

Road tax has been paid by the vehicle owners and the commuters also. It is the responsibility of this authority who are receiving tax from the people make sure that roads are maintained well. Let them sort out the issue between Highway Authority, Town Panchayat, MCC or any other people responsible for this. Protest in front of the Local MLA and the tax receiving authority make sure that they takes action. Most of the MLA’s fly by air, so they do not understand problem. Potholes are never ending problem in India, that too in DK and most of the road planning is done unscientific way. The rain is not only coming in DK it comes all over the world. The problem is the money released for the jobs does not actually goes to the development work but it goes to politicians and the bureaucrats. Hence, this is the cause of the problem.

The concerned authorities are to be held responsible for this type of bogus work. The potholes are seen everywhere which are dangerous especially for two wheelers. We need proper administration at Panchayat andMunicipality/Corporation level. The peoples representatives (MLAs and MPs) are accountable to the general public for such type of administration. It would be better if they use their valuable time to attend to such public issues than attending to the private functions on daily basis for cutting ribbon etc. etc.....

It is high time that the citizens sue the authorities for negligence, corruption, and endangering lives. This has to stop.

Mr. Antony, Mangalore: You have mentioned in your comment that citizens should sue the authorities for negligence, corruption and endangering lives.
Why do you ask other citizens to sue the Authorities, instead you take the lead and Sue them as you are also staying in Mangalore and a Citizens of this land? Believe me, I do not support negligence and corruption by the Authorities. But do not advise others, instead you take the lead. Jai Hind.
