Mangaluru: Two days after gang war, police find 6 knives, 16 mobile phones in jail

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 4: With the police stepping up their search of the district jail premises in the wake of the murders of two inmates two days ago, all kinds of tools, knives and mobile phones are cropping up from the prison.

On Wednesday November 4, the police investigative team and jail officials conducted a joint search operation of the prison rooms and cells and found six knives, 16 mobile phones, seven sim cards, seven memory cards, mobile batteries, mobile chargers, electric wire, cutting plier, lighters, electric heaters, chilli powder and wires of an iron box.

The above items were seized and a case was registered in Barke police station for further investigation.

In a gang war inside the jail on November 2, two inmates - alleged Chhota Shakeel aide Madoor Isubu and his associate Ganesh Shetty were murdered. A case has been registered against five persons and police have termed the murder as pre-planned.

Sources said that out of the 6 knives found in the search operation, none of them were used in the crime, and hence the search for the murder weapon is on.

no wonder and not a big surprise. It's all known factor, only thing came in public statements. Is it so tough to investigate and find how these weapons came inside jail. no. Just keep drilling the person who had the weapon, he will spell the person who helped to get that weapon inside jail. So, not a big deal. Only thing is that now it will be on police people itself, there will be a reluctance on the inquiry and investigation.

Corruption of Police and Jail authorities are the main reasons for all these weapons and mobile phones to get entry inside a jail. But these people go scot free without getting dismissed from their job or being jailed. At the most they are suspended for a few weeks or transferred to a different location. Most of the time they are protected by their own dept chiefs!

All the time people supporting police... what happened to people now y not support police blindly.. Police many times files false cases against any person by taking money and or any organisation and remember many in jail are arrested because of suspicion , so do not frame any until court says they are guilty..

Bravo, looks like the jail is a big central godown for all types of weapons. The question is how come they land there?and of course without the help of Insider or a worker.Everything is possible when Money is there. But it had its bad side ,murder violation where it should not be,and they are inside.and it happens.question the staff ,observe them and punishment should not be spared.

This proves that there some involvement from jail staff otherwise it is impossible to smuggle six knives and mobile phones into prison.
