Bengaluru, Jan 5: In an incident which occurred on Monday January 4 in Hassan district, a man killed his father, while in another incident reported from Tumakuru district, a father murdered his own son. Both the killers were frustrated at the behaviour of the victims, it is gathered.

Manje Gowda (51), a resident of Chikkamainahalli in Dudda taluk of Hassan district, was hit with a pestle and killed by his son, Sunil. It is said that Sunil was fed up by the daily ordeal of drunken ruckus created at home by his father. Sunil claimed that his father, who got heavily drunk every day, tortured his family members. He added that Manje Gowda had also sold his house and agricultural field to finance his liquor addiction, on account of which his wife had committed suicide earlier. Manje Gowda often talked of getting re-married, which angered his children, it is learnt.

In the other incident, Rihaan (16), a resident og Nagalapura village in Turuvekere taluk of Tumakuru district was killed by his father, Umarda Raj. It is learnt that Umarda was frustrated at the nagging ill health of his son, who who always was found to be lying down, and unable to work. Rihaan was very lean, and was unable to do work as told by his father, which had earned the ire of his father, it is gathered.

On Monday, Umarda Raj, who returned from his plantation, asked his son, who was lying down, to go to plantation and do some work. Rihaan did not respond to this instruction, and lied down again. Umarda Raj got angry at this behaviour, and hit his son with a machete used for cutting flesh, said Rihaan's mother, Sabeena Taj, in a complaint filed in the police station. Umarda Raj stands arrested.
