Mangaluru: Protest against society - DYFI activists booked

Mangaluru, Jan 5: The Pandeshwar police have registered first information report (FIR) against some activists of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), who had tried to lay siege to the city branch of Samruddha Jeevan Multi State Cooperative Society on Monday January 4. The activists had taken this action in connection with the allegation of collecting deposits from the general public and defrauding them levelled against the society which has branches in a number of places.

The police have already arrested some important officials of the society in connection with the complaints of fraud.

DYFI Dakshina Kannada district unit vice president, B K Imtiaz, secretary, Santosh Kumar Bajal, leader, Sadiq Kannur, and others held a protest on Monday, demanding action against the city branch of the said society located at A B Shetty Circle here. The police had taken the protesters into custody and released them later. But FIR has now been registered based on a complaint filed by the employees of the said society, police sources said.

    This company is also making haresment on staff. Not providing salary on time even not giving any holiday or any comp off on particular day as per norms of company on tuesday, even they not provide overtime wages to staff as most of the day staff are found woking more then 9 hours working in office.This issue is still not rasied by any concern depatments
