Puttur, Jan 7: A person from Gadipila in Sarve village in the taluk committed suicide by hanging himself with the help of a sari at his home. The incident occurred on the night of Tuesday January 5.
Sharat Shetty (33), son of the late Vittal Shetty from Gadipila took this extreme step. It is said that he was suffering from depression.
It is said that after having dinner on Tuesday night, Sharat went to sleep in the bedroom of the house. On Wednesday morning, his wife, Neeta, found that he was not in the bedroom. She went searching for him, and found that he had committed suicide by using a sari as a noose, and tying the other end of the sari to the roof beam.
Sharat is survived by wife and a three-year-old child.
