Bantwal: Auto rickshaw tumbles, driver killed on spot

Bantwal, Jan 15: In an accident which occurred at Kumangila near Moorje in the taluk on Thursday January 14, the driver of an auto rickshaw lost his life after the three-wheeler went out of his control and tumbled on the road.
 
The driver of the above unfortunate incident has been identified as Anand Poojary (50), residing near Gandhi Maidan in Neralakatte near here. It is gathered that Poojary was returning after dropping off a passenger at Nayanadu, when this tragedy occurred.
 
When the auto rickshaw fell down, Poojary suffered deep wounds to his skull. He died on the spot because of excessive bleeding, policemen said. He had breathed his last before locals who rushed to his rescue could extend help, and as such, his body was shifted by them to the government hospital in the town. A case was also registered in Punjalakatte police station about this incident.
