Udupi: Astro Mohan's book 'Pictorial Journey to Udupi-Manipal' released

Udupi, Jan 15: Renowned photographer, Astro Mohan's book 'Pictorial Journey to Udupi- Manipal' was released by H S Ballal, vice-chancellor of Manipal University on Thursday, January 14 at Kediyoor Hotel.












Senior journalist and reviewer A Ishwarayya has written introduction to this book.

In his introductory note, Ishwarayya admired Astro Mohan's photography and said, "Collection of his pictures is heart touching. Photographs give information about a particular event and convert these experiences into visual experience. For the perfect picture, the photographer has to understand various concepts of photography."

Speaking on the occasion, vice-chancellor, H S Ballal said, "Pictures depict the complete story. It is everyone's duty of preserving and cultivating our rich cultural heritage. We need to promote art."

Speaking about his book, Astro Mohan says that the release of this book was his long awaited dream which has become a reality after four years of hard work. "I have tried to capture Udupi through my book," he says.

As a photo journalist, Astro Mohan has been working for 22 long years. Currently, he works as a senior news photographer for the Kannada newspaper 'Udayavani'.

Besides being a photojournalist, he is also known as magician, astrologer, palmist, orator, cine actor, artiste and art critic.

He has conducted many workshops on photography and teaches at various universities.

T Goutham Pai, Praveena Mohan, P Yuvaraj and others were present during the release of the book.
