KIMS nurses tender apology, request revocation of suspension

Bengaluru, Jan 16: The nurses of Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), who had been suspended for going on strike, have decided to reconcile with the management and sort out all their differences. 

Addressing a press conference at Press Club in Bengaluru on Saturday, the nurses said that it was time for them to head back to the work and requested the KIMS management and Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha to accept their apologies for their stir.

It may be recalled that the nurses had differences with the KIMS management over a number of issues and had hit the streets with their protest.

Subsequently, the protesting nurses were suspended by the management.

However, the nurses say that their suspension must be revoked and they should be allowed to work at KIMS once again.

Addressing media, Kausalya, one of the suspended nurse, said, "We have been relentlessly working at KIMS from a long time. So, we request the management to withdraw the suspension order immediately."

Another nurse Roopa said, "Nursing a noble profession as it is they who go to any extent to help a patient. Hence, the management should be compassionate in taking them back."

Smitha, another nurse, said, "We will be meeting the representatives of the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha to personally apologise for the recent protest and promise not to protest in future. Hence, we should be taken back."

    I feel the suspension of the strking nurses should be revoked as the said nurses have tebdered an apology. The patients will suffer due to this suspension and we do not know what was the actual/genuine reason for the strike.

    I think nurses too had reasons to go on streike.and when officials too had reason to suspend.But when both sides have to discuss matters and come to conclusion and take them back.afterall patients are here suffering inbetween the fronts.when nurses streike was not accepted from officials they have to think twice.and officials too must think that nurses have Union(if they are members)cant be suspended as they want.nurses Needs must be heared.Suspend is not a answer.
