Puttur: Youth in judicial custody for teasing hostel inmates

Puttur, Jan 18: A youth was arrested for habitually loitering near a girls hostel here and eve teasing girl students of educational institutions. On Saturday, he was produced in court by policemen.

Ismail, residing in a rented accommodation at Bannur near here, used to approach the said hostel and tease the girls there on a regular basis. Frustrated at his behaviour, the warden of the hostel had filed a complaint in the town police station here.

The policemen, who arrested him and booked him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, produced him in the court on Saturday upon which he was remanded to judicial custody of two weeks.
