Kundapur, Jan 19: A bicycle rider was killed after a vehicle carrying newspaper for distribution hit him near Sangam bridge in the outskirts of the town on Monday January 18.
The deceased has been identified as Boniface Louis (50). Boniface was working as mason. He was resident of Tallur village near here.
The accident occurred on national highway 66 at around 6 am today. The bicycle rider was moving towards the town from Tallur for attending his work as usual, when a vehicle that was returning after distributing the day's newspaper bundles to various places, came from behind and knocked him down.
The bicycle rider died on the spot. A case about the incident was registered in the traffic police station here. Police have begun investigation into the accident.
