Kasargod, Jan 20: A youth met with a gory death after a bus knocked down the motor bike he was riding on Monday January 18.
Aithappa (25), son of late Krishna Naik from Yedamale Maikana in Padre, was killed in this accident. Aithappa, a carpenter by profession, had finished the day's work, and was returning home with a fellow worker at around 5 pm on Monday, when the accident occurred near Arlapadavu.
After a private bus moving between Puttur-Swarga and Vittal and Aithappa's motor bike collided with each other, Aithappa was thrown away from his two-wheeler onto the roadside. In this process, his head banged against the hand pump of a tube-well standing by the roadside.
Although he was rushed to Puttur hospital immediately, Aithappa succumbed to injuries before medical assistance could be extended to him.
