Udupi, Jan 23: The members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike staged a protest on Saturday, January 23 against Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis over border issue between two states, in front of clock tower, here.

Addressing the protesters, S R Lobo, president, KRS said, “The government of Karnataka should not hand over parts of state such as Belgaum, Nippani, Karavara to Maharashtra.”

The protesters expressed their anger by burning the effigy of Devendra Fadnavis, Chief minister of Maharashtra.

“We are always ready to fight for our rights. Belgaum is part of Karnataka as per the Mahajan's report. CM Fadnavis is testing Kannadigas patriotism by broaching up the Belgaum boundary issue now and then.”

“Both centre and sate should intervene in the border issue. Fadnavis is doing it for his personal gain, name and fame. It is a conspiracy of Maharashtra CM to raise the borad issue time and again,” he said.

Sudesh Shet, secretary,  Karunakar Mendon, Riyaz, Ganapati Shettigar, Sujay Poojary and others were present.
