Pejawar Swamiji confers Rashtra Ratna on Narayana Murthy

Udupi, Jan 24: Founder of Infosys N R Narayana Murthy visited Sri Krishna Math on Saturday, January 23 and offered prayers.

Murthy was honoured with Rashtra Ratna award by Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math on the occasion.



After receiving the award Murthy said," I will do work hard and render my sincere service to this nation as before. Swamiji’s kindness and love have motivated me to engage in social service activities."

Paryaya Pejawar Swamiji said, ‘I am very happy to be present this prominent award to a personality like Murthy. This award is given to the national level achiever for the remarkable work. Narayana Murthy is the first recipient of this award. His contribution to the information technology is remarkable."

Managing director and CEO of Karnataka Bank Ltd P Jayarama Bhat and the managing director of Mangaluru Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) Chikkananjappa were also felicitated during the occasion.

The felicitation ceremony held at Ananda Theertha Mantapa. Pejawar junior seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Swamiji was also present.

Murali Kadekar compered the programme. Perampally Vasudev Bhat read out the felicitation letter.
