Bidar, Jan 25: In an accident which occurred near Jalasangi Tower on Bidar-Humnabad road in the district on Sunday January 24 evening, six people lost their lives. In the accident in which a truck and a car were involved, a woman suffered serious injuries.
Some people from Hebbal, Ratakal and Rewagi villages in Kalaburagi district were returning home after paying obeisance at Mailara LIngeshwara temple in Khanapur. While returning, they met some relatives at Hallikhed (B) village, and were on their way to their village, when a truck carrying she-buffaloes hit their car.
The deceased are Laxmibai Chandrashekhar (60), Basavaraja Chandrasetti (40), Sharanamma Maharudrappa (50), Sharanamma Rajkumar (30), Chandramohan Basavaraj (6), and Mahantesh (6).
The injured woman, who is yet to be identified, was rushed to a hospital at Kalaburagi.
