Udupi, Jan 25: A workshop for engineering students was organized by SUPATHA- the Diocesan Career Advancement Programme Centre, of the city's diocese at the conference hall of Bishop’s House on Sunday January 24.

Prior to this, Fr Reginald Pinto, director of 'Sampada' of the same diocese celebrated the Holy Eucharist.

The resource persons for the day were Priyanka Mary Francis, IAS, CEO, Zilla Panchayath, Udupi and Dr Norbert Lobo, dean, economics department, Aloysius College, Mangaluru.

Priyanka Mary Francis shared her experience of preparing for civil service exam. She explained the duties and responsibilities entrusted to a civil servant. She also emphasized the importance of engineers getting into civil service.

Dr Norbert Lobo elucidated the various opportunities in Indian Civil Service, the exam pattern and syllabus of UPSC and KPSC, the various government posts available for engineers.

Supatha programme coordinator, Derick Mascarenhas compered the programme. Oniel Andrade introduced the guest speakers. Fr Edwin D'Souza, director, youth commission of the diocese was present.
