Woman shows exceptional honesty by handing over jewellery worth Rs 1.7 lac

Daijiworld Media Network- Sullia (RJP)

Sullia, Feb 18: A woman here showed exceptional honesty when she handed over the jewellery she found on the road on Wednesday, February 17.

Pushpavathi from Mavinakatte near here is the woman who found the jewellery and excelled in her honesty.

On Wednesday, Pushpavathi found a chain when she was walking on the road. She went to a jewellery shop nearby to check whether it was that of gold. The jeweller told her that it was indeed gold and weighed 8 sovereigns, the value of which could be estimated at Rs 1.7 lac.

Pushpavathi without wasting time rushed to the police station and handed over the gold chain to the police. A lady named Zarina had come to the police station earlier to complain that she had lost her chain. Police were happy to learn that the lost chain reached the police station without them venturing out in search of it. It all happened because of the exceptional honesty of Pushpavathi.

Police phoned Zarina to come to the police station to collect the chain.

Zarina praised Pushpavathi for her exemplary behaviour and thanked her.

HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. Nowadays very few believe it but this honest woman should get the President's award for her honesty. She could have pocketed that jewelry worth 1.7 lac. My hats off to Pushpavathi and may God bless her abundantly. Zarina just thanked that woman instead of giving her something for the honesty.

Ms. Pushpavathi's honesty should be followed by all.

People some times become so selfish.

Ms. Zarina would have honoured Ms. Pushpavathi with small gift at least when poor lady returned her Rs.1.7 lakh chain.

She should think , she lost Rs.1.7 lakh but only because it gone to honest lady, so she received it back. So at least give her something which will encourage he & even others to be honest always.

Anyway this is just my opinion, no blame game her again here please.

Honesty is the best policy - an eye opener for all of us. Even if there are some good percentage of honest people like Pushpavathi exist in this world, God will not destroy this world. Lord God said to Abraham if I find some good people, I will not destroy it by sending down sulfur upon Sodom and Gomorrah, fire from out of heaven.

God bless her. I remember the good old days when we were punished by our parents for bringing someones pencil from school by mistake. That was Indian norm. Honesty. Mahatma Gandhi would be proud to see the great tradition continues, even though we might wish to build a temple in honour of Mahatma's murderers.
