Mangaluru, Feb 19: Success comes to those who work hard and this is undoubtedly true in the case of Ideal Ice Cream. They have been the pioneers of ice cream in Mangaluru and their fame is recognized and appreciated globally as well. Another laurel has been added to their success story recently.
Ideal Ice Cream, the favourite brand of ice cream not only of Mangalureans but also of anyone who has ever been to Mangaluru, has won 4 medals at the 'Great Indian Ice Cream Contest'.
The contest, in its fifth season, was organized by DuPont Nutrition & Health, a leading supplier of food ingredient solutions to the global dairy industry, at Hotel Double Tree by Hilton in Gurgaon near Delhi.
The results were announced on February 11. About 94 companies had participated in the event and more than 500 samples were received. Ideal Ice Cream participated in three categories - Vanilla, Chocolate and Most Innovative categories.
Ideal Ice Cream's Swiss Chocolate won the best in India Award as well as gold in the Chocolate category. Creamy Vanilla won gold in Vanilla category and Choco Chilli won bronze in the Most Innovative category.
This was the world's biggest ice cream contest. Vasco de Sousa, one of the most renowned ice cream experts was the judge while Master Chef Kunal Kapoor was the chief guest who handed over the prizes. Congratulations to S Prabhakar and Mukund Kamath, and here's hoping as time goes by Ideal Ice Cream may grow rich in favour and in popularity. People of Mangaluru are proud of Ideal Ice Cream's achievement!
