Mangaluru, Feb 20: AJ Hospital & Research Centre, Mangaluru won the award for 'Quality beyond Accreditation' at the Global Conclave of Association of Health Care Providers India (AHPI) held at Mumbai on February 13.

This is the second consecutive year that the hospital is getting the AHPI award. AHPI is a body where all the hospitals are represented across the country. Most of the members are NABH accredited hospitals. The AHPI and NABH are trying to improve the standards of hospitals.

More than 250 hospitals across India competed for various categories of awards. This particular award 'Quality beyond Accreditation' was awarded to only four hospitals in India, one among them being AJ Hospital.

AJ Hospital is the first hospital in this region to get the prestigious NABH accreditation three years back. Ever since then, the hospital is following the international norms of best practices in healthcare and patient safety. There are stringent norms which need to be followed, documented and the results of which need to be submitted to the apex body for scrutiny. AJ Hospital is constantly working towards providing better facilities and care for the patients, because of which it has become the household name in a short span of time.
