'Result not on expected lines - not mandate against government' - CM

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 24: Chief minister (CM) of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, admitted that the results of the zilla and taluk panchayat elections have belied the expectations of the party to emerge victorious with a thumping majority by ruthlessly crushing the opposition challenge. Addressing a press conference at his home office, 'Krishna' on Tuesday February 23, he asserted that this is not a popular mandate against the functioning of the state government.

"We had expected a better performance by party candidates. As compared to 2010, our party has bagged opportunity to rule ten additional taluk and zilla panchayats independently. I, on behalf of the state government and Congress, hereby express our gratitude to the people of the state for the support," he stated.

The CM analyzed that his party could have fared much better, had local issues, caste combinations, and personal charisma had not played a decisive role in the election. He also felt that the government could not reach out to the people in an effective manner as Lok Sabha, gram panchayat, legislative council, zilla, and taluk panchayat elections followed one another closely, and there was dearth of time. He said during the remaining tenure of two years and three months, he would strive to introduce more people-friendly iniitiatives and hone the administrative to become more efficient. "We will work with the 2018 assembly poll in mind henceforth. We will go to the people and make efforts to respond to their problems," he stated.

He said that the party is unable to independently rule the panchayats at 11 places, and that his party will aim at aligning with secular parties to wrest power at these places. When press persons wanted to know whether he would hold discussions with Deve Gowda on this issue, he replied in the negative. He said that for the present, local leaders would be given the responsibility of striking an alliance.

About the upcoming visit of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dr G Parameshwar, to New Delhi, Siddaramaih said he knows about the visit. He said he was not aware of the purpose of this visit. He added that he would be going to New Delhi after the budget session of the assembly concludes.

My Grandmother died when she was 92 years old but no one got chance to hold our house/money key. We got only after her death. Our politicians are same like this lady that they will not allow youngsters to join or run the party. They will keep the power and they will not allow others to rule smoothly.

Dear CM, plz introspect and see reasons even small that citizens feel and experience. There was a visual that you did not care for Ambulances that had needy patients access the road that u used for campaigning. Local area members of Panchayats are not worried or responsive to problems/issues faced by local citizens such as roads, street lighting, drainage, water harvesting, water supply etc. The MLA who gets areas has the power to give benefits to voters/areas according to his Religion and financiers for his staying in power.

..we ask what MODI did in 2 years..but we forget that MODI's performance should be measured in National/International index parameters not in District level..all parameters shows ACHE DIN but our national media not ready to highlight they want BEEF/JNU/HYDERABAD/RAPE so on..But SIDDANNA's performance can be measured easily in state/District/Taluk level..but except private real estate development we cant see any change..MLAs/Ministers can be seen in ribbon cutting ceremony of private complexes..state LOKAYUKTA almost closed & wings clipped..SIDDANNA concerned about so called Dalit ROHIT & his plight but he conveniently forgets that issuing 1500 liquor license/cheap liquor pushes people further to poverty..no ne talks about that..

Mr. Narendra Modi will know his & his party's fate, in year 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, still long way to go, you don't worry about it.

    Concentrate on the article
'Result not on expected lines - not mandate against government' - CM.
Not just expected lines, but pathetic, being a ruling party & with all those bhagya's & money power in the elections, still not able to get a hold on rural Karnataka voters.

CM Siddu & his govt has been given a clear picture, as to what would be expected in yr 2018 Assembly poll, only giving useless bhagya's, celebrating unwanted Jyathi's and keeping corrupt & non performing useless Ministers in his cabinet will not help him, wearing expensive watch and keeping a tight lip about it for so long also will not help him.

He has to get his act together, be proactive, work hard for the betterment of the people & progress of Karnataka may help him, other wise end is near.

Same goes to PM Mr. Modi & his NDA, voters are smart will not put up lose talk & non performance.

CM Siddu, wake up, you have just 2 more years, either go hard or go home, or voters will send you home.

    Cheers.

This is the warning bell for CONGiss in Karnataka too…. People in rural area too not supporting CONGiss means Siddu can imagine the outcome of next Assembly Election in Karnataka….. They gained more seats not because of CONGiss Party but just because of few Candidates who really works for common people in their region so people vote for them even though they are in wrong Party when it comes to ZP and TP elections
