Kundapur: Fire in chemical factory at Koteshwar, huge losses suffered

Kundapur, Feb 24: Fire broke out in Damodar Chemical Industries situated in Koteshwar industrial area on Wednesday, February 24 afternoon. The fire spread and engulfed the entire factory within minutes converting the items in the factory into ashes.













The factory, manufacturing the oil used in the brake liners of vehicles, had stored nearly 40 tonnes of oil in the warehouse. It is said that fire was seen in the oil tank while there was a sudden increase in temperature and it spread to the factory within minutes.

Fire brigade staff who arrived after informed had to struggle very hard to extinguish the fire.

Damodar Chemical Industries is owned by Yagnesh Bhat Kundapur.

Police arrived at the factory and conducted investigations. Losses have not been estimated yet, but are believed to be huge.
