Disturbed at proposal to oust him, Justice Adi proceeds on leave

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 5: Frustrated at the dogged efforts being made by the state government to unseat him, the latest one being the proposal sent by the assembly speaker to the high court Chief Justice with recommendation for his ouster, state Upa Lokayukta, Justie Subhash B Adi, has not been attending office since the last couple of days, it is gathered.

His personal assistant just said that Justice Adi was on leave, and information about when he would resume duties will be made known on Monday.

Sources say that Justice Adi decided to stay away from his office, having been disturbed at the proposal sent by the government to the Chief Justice. In the past too, when the motion to remove him was moved in the assembly, he had taken leave, and attended to duties only after the government clarified to high court that it has no objection if he continues to serve as Upa Lokayukta.
