MCC Urban Poverty Alleviation Cell programme privileges inaugurated

Mangaluru, Mar 5: "The distribution of various privileges of Mangaluru City Corporation Urban Poverty Alleviation Cell programmes to various beneficiaries will be inaugurated by district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai and urban development minister Vinaya Kumar Sorake on Monday March 7 at Town Hall, here." This was announced by Jacintha Vijay Alfred at press meet at her office in the city on Saturday March 5.


She also said that 1,250 beneficiaries from various programmes like 24.10%, 7.25%, 3%, Vajapayee Urban Housing Scheme, Swastha Kutira, Kutira Jyothi, National Urban livelihood mission will be receiving the benefits of Rs 68,30,400.

A malaria control action committee meeting was held on Thursday March 3 at MCC. She added that a fine has been imposed to 7 buildings in the city.

Regarding the allegation made by BJP at a recent MCC special meeting, terming 'illegal' the various works approved by the mayor she clarified, here that they were carried out as per the KMC act.

On this occasion deputy mayor Purshotham Chitrapura, Shashidar Hegde, MCC commissioner HN Gopalakrishna, corporator Deepak Poojary and others were present.
