Puttur: Pick-up truck tumbles - driver loses life

Puttur, Mar 7: A pick-up truck driver lost his life after the vehicle he was driving lost balance and fell on the railway tracks. This unfortunate incident occurred at Karmala, Bannur in the town on Sunday March 6.

The victim was Hanif (52) from Mura, Kabaka, in the taluk. When he was moving on the road laid parallel to the railway tracks, his vehicle suddenly fell to the railway tracks from a considerable height. Hanif got stuck under the vehicle, and breathed his last. His body was extricated sometime later with the help of locals.

It is gathered that railway traffic was not affected by the incident as no trains were scheduled to pass through this section during the period of this accident. Railway police as well as personnel from traffic police station here visited the spot and conducted investigation.
