Tumakuru: Road accident claims three lives

Tumakuru, Mar 7: After a tanker plowed through a group of people engaged in lifting a tempo that had tumbled by the roadside, three persons lost their lives. Another, who was critically injured, is battling for life in a hospital. The accident occurred on Sunday March 6 near Kuntenahalli Gate near Sira on national highway 75.

Murali (23) and Nandeesh (25) from Kolar, as well as Devaraju (26) from Channagiri taluk in Chitradurga district lost their lives in this tragedy. The injured person has been identified as Santosh.

A tempo that was carrying poultry birds to Davanagere from Kolar fell by the side of the highway. People travelling in another tempo loaded with banana who reached the spot sometime later, offered help to lift the fallen tempo and make it stand erect. A tanker which came that way from the direction of Tumakuru mowed down this group of people who were helping the fallen vehicle.

A case about he accident was registered in Kallambella police station.
