Mangaluru, Mar 8: Konaje police have arrested the main accused in a case of attempt to murder a hardware shop owner. The arrested accused, Nawaz (28), from Kairangala has been accused of trying to eliminate the owner of hardware store with a sword.
Attempt had been made on the life of Muhammed Hanif, who runs Arafa Hardware at Mudipu downtown on February 23. Nawaz and his associates had allegedly tried to kill Hanif by swinging sword at his head. Nawaz has already been accused in the incident in which medical student couple was abducted from Deralakatte and the case of sexual atrocity, which had gained state-wide attention.
The Konaje policemen are now searching for the other accused in the case. Nawaz, who secured release from jail release, is into his old ways again, police said.
