Udupi, Mar 8: The members of People Front of India (PFI) on Monday March 7 staged a protest in front of clock tower demanding an immediate action against Uttara Kannada M P Anant Kumar Hegde for his remarks against Islam.

Condemning the statement of MP Anant, Abdul Kumar said, “These anti-national powers are trying to disrupt the peace of the nation. We should not give any opportunity for such people to live in this country who want to destabilize the nation through their remarks.â€

A huge card campaign was kick-started against his remark on Islam on the occasion. People can send their wishers through postal letters against him to the President of India and the governor of Karnataka.

Riyaz Parangipete opposing Anant's words said that a true anti nationalist is he who gives anti-patriotic statements.

“People should understand about these anti-national phenomenons. PFI will fight against such incidents and will protect the minority communities. Minorities are not weak and fragile.â€

“I will use singular form to call his name because I have been hurt by his words. No one can throw Islam or speak against it in our country. Such poisonous creatures should be thrown out first from this country.â€

Members of PFI demanded for stern action against him and threatened that its party will take initiative in arresting MP Anant Kumar under law and order.

Unnecessary publicity for that useless MP who doesn’t know even his own religion, how he can speak or study about other religion. He just want popularity, now whole Karnataka know who is this good for nothing so called MP is. Dong tail never change. Don’t waste your precious time. One day that same MP will accept the religion after studying with open mind.
