Doha: KSC to present Wilfy Nite on Apr 22

Doha, Mar 10: Konkani Speaking Community Qatar (KSC) will present a highly entertaining 'Wilfy Nite' on April 22 (Friday) from 5 pm onwards at our Lady of Arabia Hall, Rosary Church Premises, Doha-Qatar.

KSC aims to unite all the Catholic Konkani people residing in Qatar. This show has been organized to further strengthen the bond of unity.

The event will be a tribute to 'Konkan Kogull' the late Wilfy Rebimbus who has composed over 3,000 songs and has over 250 musical shows to his credit all over India, Middle East and Canada. It is well said, 'The King of Konkani music, Wilfy Rebimbus was not just an extraordinary musician but was a Konkani institution in himself. It was he who gave new dimension to Konkani music and put Konkani music on a higher pedestal.

The family of 'Konkan Kogul' Wilfy Rebimbus, 'Konkan Myna' Meena Rebimbus, Veena and Vishwas will present the melodious immortal and ever memorable songs of the legend of Konkani music Wilfy Rebimbus. Ivan Sequeira along with some renowned local artistes of Qatar will perform with the legend's family.

The show will also have hilarious comedy and a variety of dances by talented local artistes.

The entire event will be anchored by ace compere Leslie Rego. The music will be led by maestro Joswin Pinto.

The evening is sure to take music lovers down memory lane, promising wholesome entertainment for Wilfy’s fans in Qatar who have been eagerly waiting to listen to his meaningful songs.

This event is particularly organized not only to entertain and rejuvenate the minds of the Konkani community residing in Qatar but also to promote and support Konkani music, culture and language, bearing in mind the fast changes in lifestyle and mode of communication all over the world effecting Konkani language and culture.
