HC stays trial of Yeddy, daughter, in Lokayukta court

Bengaluru, Mar 15: The state high court stayed hearing of a case against former Karnataka chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa and his daughter, Arunadevi, in a Lokakyukta court at Shivamogga. The duo faces the allegation of obtaining four sites in Shivamogga illegally from Karnataka Housing Board.

Justice P D Vaingankar, who headed the single judge bench of the high court which heard the application filed by Yeddyurappa and Arunadevi, also ordered issuance of notices to the complainant, an advocate named Vinod, and Lokayukta police in Shivamogga on the issue.

In his private complaint filed in Lokayukta court at Shivamoogga, Vinod had alleged that the above father-daughter duo had illegally got allotment of four sites to them by Karnataka Housing Board. The policemen, who had investigated the case on the basis of the court order, had filed B report.
