Kundapur: Illegal transportation of wooden logs detected

Kundapur, Mar 17: Officials of forest mobile squad, Udupi, intercepted a truck near Arate bridge at Hemmady-Mulikatte in the taluk recently.

In this case, truck driver, Shiva, was taken into custody. He has since been released on bail. Wooden logs worth six lac rupees were seized.

The operation was led by range forest officer of forest mobile squad, Udupi, Austin P Soans, deputy range forest officer, Jeevandas Shetty,and others. It was conducted under the directions of deputy forest conservator of Kundapur division, M LManjunath. Assistant forest conservator of forest mobile squad, Sadanand, is investigating the case.
