Karkala: Muslim entrepreneur funds rebuilding of ancient centre of Hindu faith

Karkala, Mar 20: Religion does not become an impediment if deep faith and devotion are involved. Perhaps because of this, a very ancient centre of faith of Hindus was recently developed, thanks to financial assistance extended by a Muslim entrepreneur.

Thanks to the philanthropic attitude of a Muslim businessman, a centre of Hindu faith located a little distance away from the national highway near Abbenjalu between Karkala and Bajagoli has gained back its lost grandeur. A large number of devotees had gathered together, sinking their differences of caste, religion, financial status etc because of the fact that an ancient centre of divine forces had been reconstructed and renovated.

A realtor, Miyar Muhammed Ghouse, has been the force behind this change. When he was involved with land deal at Abbenjalu, he saw that a dilapidated centre of divine forces belonging to Hindus was located there. He had promised to help to reconstruct this centre, after holding talks with the owner of the land in which this centre is situated.

The development initiatives were undertaken in consultation with astrological experts like Padmanabha Tantry, Krishna Bhat, and Prof Ramachandra Achar Moodbidri. Shrines of serpent god, Brahma, Rakteshwari, Nandi, Kshetrapala, Chamundi, and Guliga have been newly built. Religious programmes including Vaastu Homa, Gana Homa, Naga Pratishte, Ashesha Bali, Naga Darshana etc were performed there recently. Hundreds of people including Vedic scholars, those managing temples from the region, owners of the land, villagers, entrepreneur, Kuntibail Leo Pereira, Kuntapady John D'Silva, participated and accepted the Prasadam.

Muhammed Ghouse had started his business in 1992 by undertaking transportation of rocks for the reconstruction of Goddess Adilaxmi temple at Kodsarabettu Nandalike. He had named his business concern after Adilaxmi. He believes that this endeavor helped him to scale greater heights in business.

"No one should forget that God is one, although there are differences in the way we worship him. In spite of the ways of worship followed, the prayers reach the same god. When we have faith in this, we get peace of mind," says Muhammed Ghouse.

    Dear Shankar,
"You too make hue and cry and point to Hindus at the first instance, when someone throws stones at church"
I have never seen nor have any witness indicating that Hindus threw stones at the place of worship (irrespective of religion)
But it is for sure there are some miscreants who deliberately do such heinous acts to bring communal disharmony.
I have lived among the people of all religions in Mangalore, but never interfered or talked anything to hurt them from religion point view.
I comment only where people break the rule of law or disturb others.
Be my friend or brother. Let us be happy being Indian.

Flavian, I was just wondering many temples in our neighborhood are left to dilapidate and some good man from other community is taking up efforts to renovate it. We are concerned to build one far at Ayodhya, ignoring the ones in our surroundings.
I don't know how well Mr. Ghouse will be treated after this. religious fanaticism is growing deep in all religions of coastal Karnataka.

People has no understanding about god is a waste of time in arguing. First build a temple in your heart. Our body itself is a temple of god. If our body is filled with hate then no matter build temple over temple has no meaning. So be respectful towards god and live in peace.

"God is one" - Good to see successful business men expressing their philosophical & universal truth.

On the contrary.., I don't understand why there is a pressure to exclude our honorable DC of DK's name from Shree Mahalingeshwara Temple's annual festival invitation.

Accept my Congratulations sir. I always believed and saw in my own eyes people different faith visiting and worshiping religious places of other faith because they believe in God no matter of which faith. As Mr. Ghouse rightly said prayers reach God in whichever way you offer. What you need is peace and conflicts and disturbances in the name of religion. I hope there are more people in every religion like Mr. Ghouse who can help in maintaining peace and harmony in our beautiful Dakshina Kannada.
