Unusual to return to Spain squad when you are 35: Striker Aduriz

Madrid, March 22 (IANS): Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz has admitted that returning back to the Spain football squad at the age of 35 is unusual.

At a press conference held on Monday, Aduriz said: "It's not usual to return to Spain squad when you're 35. For that reason, I feel really fortunate and grateful. I'm here with a lot of enthusiasm to add something to the team and to help out in any way that I can."

Head coach Vicente del Bosque said that Aduriz's return to the national squad was due to his performance, and added it has always been a "popular demand", reports Efe.

The upcoming friendlies against Italy and Romania represent a chance for Aduriz to prove himself in a way that might force Del Bosque to include him in the squad for Euro 2016.
