Puttur: Hit by car, pillion rider killed at Neeraje

Puttur, Mar 26: A man travelling on the pillion of a motor bike died after the two-wheeler was hit by a car at Neeraje near Kadaba in the taluk on Friday March 25.

The deceased has been identified as Jinnappa Poojary (52), a native of Amai in Kutruppady village. Prashant (26), son of Kushalappa Gowda from Kalara Perla in Kutruppady village, who was riding the ill-fated motor bike at the time suffered injuries of serious nature. He is being treated in a private hospital at Mangaluru.

Both Jinnappa and Prashant were working for a concrete well ring manufacturing unit at Uppinangady. They were going to Uppinangady to their workplace on Friday, when a car hit their motor bike. The car in question was being driven by Kuriyakose from Parangaje in Bajattur, who works at Kanchana telephone exchange.

Jinnappa is survived by wife, two sons, and a daughter. Kadaba police have registered a case.
