Mangaluru, Mar 28: The newly elected mayor of Mangaluru city corporation (MCC) Harinath was felicitated at St Lawrence church, Bondel on Saturday, March 26 after the celebration of the Easter Mass.

Parish priest Fr Andrew D'souza felicitated the new mayor on behalf of the parish council and parishioners of the church.

Harinath addressing the gathered in Konkani thanked all for the felicitation. He said "This felicitation is like a felicitation at home. I have been an old student of this school. I have always been a witness to the service rendered by the Bondel church. Since my first term in Pachanady ward, my constituency lies within Bondel parish limits. I will assure my help to the church activities."

The vice president of the church pastoral council Henbert Pinto, Secretary Wilfred Alvares, assistant parish priests Fr Jason and Fr Deepak and Stany Alvares were present among others.
