Kundapur: Accident at Haladi - motor bike rider killed

Kundapur, Mar 29: After a motor bike and a passenger van got involved with head-on collision in front of a private hospital at Haladi downtown in the taluk, a youth who was riding the bike was killed. The accident occurred on Monday March 28.

Ganesh alias Aneesh Shetty (32), resident of Yadady in Shiriyara died in this accident. Ganesh was the son of the late Uday Hegde from Mandarthi, and was living alone after losing both his parents. He was a coolie by profession.

Ganesh was going to Shiriyara from the direction of Amasebail whereas the van was moving towards Sagar from Bidkalkatte direction via Haladi. Both the vehicles collided at the point where these roads meet.

The bike rider was tossed to the road due to the impact of the collision. The helmet he was wearing came off and broke into pieces. The rider, who fell over ten feet away from the spot of collision, died on the spot. Both the vehicles suffered damages.

Shankarnarayana police visited the spot, undertook investigation and cleared the road for traffic. A case was also registered by them.
