Mysuru, Mar 31: Kiran Kumar (35), branch manager of Vijaya Bank, H D Kote branch in the district, committed suicide inside the bank premises on Wednesday March 30. He was from Andhra Pradesh.

Kiran had been transferred to this branch about two years back. He was staying at H D Kote. On Wednesday he attended office and was working normally, when he suddenly collapsed. After he was taken to a hospital in the town for treatment, the doctors found that he had consumed poison. He was then referred to Mysuru for further treatment, but he did not survive this journey.

It is said that Kiran Kumar had lent about Rs 18 crore to various persons without strictly following bank norms, and that an investigation had been ordered against him by the bank for violations. A case of suicide stands filed in the police station here.

It is said that Kiran Kumar would have survived, but for the fact that the hospital here as well as the 108 ambulance in which he was taken to Mysuru did not have oxygen cylinders.

What a shame !A ambulance without Oxygen cylinder why it is at all there ?Only for names sake.?Afterall the Person could have been treated immediately on the spot or with a helicopter to another Hospital.such emergencys require immediate care not with ambulance.when will our govt.provide such Units? The Manager had no Chance somehow, because he came prepared I think.First give loan without following rules, and then suecide. On the otherside some farmers dont get loan.A amount which certainly cant be given out simply so 18crores!is it to relatives? Now got cold feet?
