Woman chasing cow out of garden falls into canal, dies

Kundapur, Apr 5: A woman who was trying to drive away a cow that had entered her garden and was damaging the vegetation there, fell into a canal and lost her life. The incident occurred at Hengavalli village in the taluk on Monday April 4.

The victim has been identified as Lakshmi (29), daughter of Piniya from Kemmugudde in Hengavalli village. After seeing that a cow had somehow entered her garden for grazing, she began to drive the animal out her property. When rushing behind the animal, she suddenly fell into a canal passing through her property, which had full of water.

In a complaint filed in Shankarnarayana police station, her family said that Lakshmi suffered from epilepsy, and that she died immediately after falling into water. A case stands registered in Shankarnarayana police station about this incident.
