Chitradurga: Five die in ghastly accident between truck and car

Chitradurga, Apr 6: In a tragic accident which occurred near BSNL tower on state highway 19 near B G Kere in Molakalmuru taluk in the district at 3.30 am on Tuesday April 5, five persons travelling by a car were killed on the spot. The accident occurred after a car and truck got involved in a head-on collision, in which the truck driver suffered serious injuries. The truck driver stands admitted into a hospital.

The car was moving towards Ballari from Bengaluru, while the truck was coming from the direction of Challakere when the accident occurred. Sriramulu (39) from Ballari, Satish Kumar (38) from Kolagal, Kumar (28) from Lokikere, Anil Kumar (19) from Hosadaroji village, and Madhwaraj (45) from Ballari died on the spot in this accident. All of them were travelling by the ill-fated car.

Truck driver, Ramulayya (45), was admitted into Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Ballari for advanced treatment. Assistant superintendent of police, Parashuram, deputy superintendent of police, Srinivas, circle police inspector, Tippeswamy, and police sub-inspector, Lokesh, visited the spot and guided the investigation.
