Theft of cow, woman serious with shock- People, demand action

Bantwal, Apr 8: A Jersey cow worth Rs 35,000 was stolen from Sanjeeva Gowda at Pelanthija near here on April 5 night. As a consequence of this, Sanjeeva Gowda’s mother got shock and she has been admitted in Mangaluru hospital. Her condition is said to be serious.

Sanjeeva Gowda is the member of Idkidu milk producers’ cooperative society. It is said that the theft of the cow has been recorded in the CCTV camera belonging to the association. As per the images, the cow was loaded into a pickup at 2.09 am and the pickup went towards Kabaka. Same pickup was captured in the images coming back at 2.26 am. A case stands registered at Vittal police station regarding the same.

A press meet was called on Thursday by milk producers, who said, the government is encouraging milk production in one hand by providing support, On the other hand, cows are stolen from houses. They asked how the support is going to help when the cow stolen are not recovered.

The milk producers said the police are competent to crack any case, buy they have not shown any interest in bring the cow thieves to books.

The milk producers demanded stern action against come thieves.

Thimmappa Manjapalu the secretary of Idkidu milk producers’ cooperative society spoke at the press meet. Other office bearers of the cooperative society were also present.
