Mangaluru, Apr 9: Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Association and Mangaluru Press Club observed a condolence meet for the death of young journalist, Haimad Hussain who passed away after a cardiac arrest whilst trekking at Charmadi Ghats on Friday April 8.

The condolence meet was held at Mangalore Press Club here on Saturday April 9.

Speaking about Haimad Hussain his colleague, Suresh Belagaje, chief sub-editor of Prajavani said, "Haimad was a young creative, talented journalist and a friend to everyone. He was actively involved in his work. His death is shocking and is an irreparable loss to the journalist fraternity.

He further said that journalists with work pressure should also give importance to health issues.

Former president of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Association, P B Harish Rai said that Hussain always approached senior journalists with humility and respect. Young journalists should imbibe this good
trait from him. This is a tragic incident for the entire district.

Journalists Raviprasad Kamila, Venu Vinod, Sathyavathi, Arif Padubidri, district information officer Khadar Sha and others shared their memories about Haimad.

Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Association president Jaganath Shetty Bala, Shrinivas Indaje, Pushparaj Shetty were present at the condolence meet.

Journalists also paid floral tributes to the portrait of Haimad Hussain.
