Udupi, Apr 9: The members of Udupi town BJP Mahila Morcha on Saturday April 9 staged a protest near clock tower against the formation of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) stating that the state government would interfere in its functioning.
Member, Sheela K Shetty also alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s colleagues were involved in PU question paper leak racket.
Addressing the protesters, she demanded the resignation of CM Siddaramaiah on the occasion.
Lambasting the various schemes of present government, she said, “After two months of gram panchayat elections, the CM again announced reservation schemes for minorities. He has been playing caste politics in electing zilla panchayat president and vice president candidates. CM is weakening the state by announcing reservations.”
Speaking about PU Paper Leak, she said, “It is shameful that even lecturers were involved in PU paper leak. These lecturers who are involved in paper leak scam are gambling with the life of students. Parents and their children have been put to hardship due to the negligence of the state administration.”
“The government schemes and programmes are creating nuisance and have become headache to society.”
Further speaking about the Anti Corruption Bureau, Sheela said, “The state government is trying to protect the corrupt politicians by forming ACB. This policy is restricted to arresting corrupt government officials and not corrupt politicians.”
“There is no provision for handing over Lokayukta case to another corruption prevention agency in Indian constitution. If the anti-corruption bureau has been formed, all the decisions might be in favour of state government and government can also intervene in the ACB case.”
“The Congress-led state government is trying to close down all the scandals namely Arkavati layout, DK Shivkumar’s land issue, Dinesh Gundurao and so on.”
