Udupi: Valerian Fernandes elected president of Catholic Sabha central committee

Udupi, Apr 12: Valerian Fernandes of Mount Rosary Church has been elected president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Udupi diocese central committee for the year 2016-17.

He has served as desigate president and vice-president of Udupi diocese central committee in previous years, and also as president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pranth of Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh and president of Kallianpur deanery Catholic Sabha. He was former president of Lions Club, Kallianpur and other associations.

Other office-bearers elected are:

Designate president - Alwyn Quadros
Vice-president - Leena Menezes of Karkala
Secretary - Jacintha Colaco of Thottam parish
Honorary treasurer - Solomon Alvares of Karkala.

Diocesan spiritual director - Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, parish priest of Kemmannu Church.
Past president – William Machado of Shirva

The elections were held at Don Bosco Hall, Bishop’s House in Udupi. Catholic Sabha Central committee former presidents were present.
